These days I watch a TV series called A BIG BANG THOERY.Have you heard of it? By the way, I’m Rock, the one in the middle of the second picture in your Christmas dinner pics (I hope) .Yeahy,it’s me! Do you remember? I hope it will be ok this time.

Hi Ya Jill,

That just sucks that your internet connections were altered. The internet is such a great way to 'shrink' the world and make it bearable to be away from home. I will visit you here instead...looks like it has even more interesting stories than on FB anyways.

I hope you are well and the students are behaving themselves (hehehe)
I think you have a birthday sometime around now? I was actually looking to see if FB had it listed......if so, happy B day, if not, happy hump day.

Miss you much, talk at ya soon.

Love,
Tara

Hi Kiddo.

It's nice to see that you have a place with an indoor pool and sauna. LOL.

As for giving up my snow shovel, I did that shortly after I retired 12 years ago. I bought myself a small Noma electric snow blower and it works just great as long as the snow is not to deep (5 or 6 inches) or wet and slushy. then it just bogs down. All I have to do is shovel the veranda and the steps. besides, I have to look after the neighbours to the south at #5. When we first moved here, Karl was retired then and when we got home after a snowfall, he already had our front sidewalk and driveway cleared with his big snowblower. Since he lost a leg about 5 years ago, I have been repaying the favour. Besides, they are both in their mid 80's and shouldn't be doing that kind of work.

Anyway, glad to see that you are having a good time over there with your friends and students.

On a more serious note. As I have not been able to find on any calendar that I have looked in, a holiday marked, "seasons greetings day" or "happy holiday day". So political correctness be damned, I will take this opportunity to call it what it is and wish you and everyone else out there, "MERRY CHRISTMAS and a HAPPY, SAFE and PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR".

Love 'N Hugs,

Your big brother, Alan.

Hey Auntie Jill

I'm glad you are enjoying yourself, too bad you can't make it home for the summer. As for your hair, maybe you should invest in a hair straightener. They are great things to have when you have hair like us.

Time to take the dogs so I can go to bed and get a good night sleep cause I will need my energy to play with Caleb tomorrow.

Love

Hi Jill.

I'm glad that you have some nice weather there. You were right about our weather. It started on Friday afternoon and about noon on Saturday I went out for about 2 1/2 Hrs. and cleared our drive and the couple next door with my little electric snow blower. They are in their mid 80's and had gone to visit their son in Florida for a week.

Pat & I went downtown about 4:30PM for dinner and to go to the Symphony. Not much traffic and it only took about 45 minutes. We got home at 10:00PM and could not get the car in the drive due to the 3 to 4 foot drift across the north side of the drive. (That is the side with the higher lawn). It was only about 1&1/2 feet deep on the south side so we walked up that side to the house. I then spent another 2 1/2 hours clearing the driveways and sidewalks again. Just as I was finished and started to put things away, the snow plows came along and plowed in the end of the driveways. Another 15 minutes of shoveling because the little blower just does not have the power to clear away the heavy wet stuff.. Whoopee.

Sunday dawned bright and clear but with another 2 inches or so of drifted snow so out with the little blower again for an hour. I would normally have just shoveled that little bit, but my back, hands and knees were so sore from Saturday that I could hardly bend over, let alone shovel snow.

Anyway, by Tuesday I was pretty well back to normal. Just the normal aches and pains that come with senior citizenship.

Love 'N Hugs to you and yours,

Pat & Alan.

As the great Jack Benny would say, "Well". (You have to have seen and heard him to appreciate the comedy in that one word.) It's about time we got some more news from China. I have been coming to this site every day or two since the end of December to see what was happening. Pat & I only got to see you the one day while you were here but you can be forgiven for that because of how you were feeling. I did send you an Email with an invite to take you out for dinner before you left, but you were so busy that I got a reply from you AFTER you got back to China. It's a long commute just for dinner.
As far as where home is, it is where the heart AND the hearth is. If you feel comfortable where you are, enjoy yourself.
Anyway, get yourself better in a hurry and we will see you the next time you come back HOME.

With love 'N hugs to my baby??? sister.

Love ya and glad to see you back on your feet.

Hi Kiddo.

It sounds like you had a great Christmas with your new found family even though you were thousands of miles away from your real family. From the smiles on the faces of the children, it looks like you are teaching them by example what many of we "Christians" have forgotten. Christmas is about giving to those less fortunate or forgotten. Who knows, maybe a few of those people that you touched this Christmas will start their own Christmas Tradition and the theme of "PEACE ON EARTH" will spread around the world and be a 365 days a year tradition. Let's hope.

Anyway, in reply to your Email query. We will all be going down to Mary & Ray's on Saturday. Mary could not have the family dinner on Boxing Day as per custom as Shari, on counter, Paul, baking and Mary, cake decorating were all scheduled to work on Boxing Day and as they all work at the same Timmy's, it would have made things difficult if they were all off so they arranged to be off on Saturday as that is Mary's normal day off.

Anyway, here is wishing you and all your friends in China a very Happy & Prosperous New Year.

Love 'N Hugs to you and yours,

Pat & Alan & family.
